Combined CAD engineering, failure analysis of OEM & other aftermarket final drives, and years of torture testing and proving out numerous FD set designs in our Outlaw car has resulted in this set which was designed for maximum strength.
We’ve added tooth width and support while retaining the OEM needle bearing sizing on the pinion shaft combined with a low helix design that shares loads among multiple teeth simultaneously. This offers high strength and copes with shaft and case deflection/distortion better than similar straight-cut designs. Tooth count is optimized for maximum strength.
This set is a direct-fit replacement and is compatible with OEM gearsets and aftermarket factory layout gearsets.
Gear Ratio Notes: After countless hours were spent running gearing comps for common combinations, this ratio was decided upon to best suit the majority of street/strip and purpose-built drag cars that are making serious HP and need an upgraded final drive set. Serious street cars on 58-67mm turbos at 600-1000whp as well as 1100-1300hp drag cars will all work great with this ratio.
- Ideal for serious 1100-1300hp drag cars utilizing this Albins 4.09 FD set with the proven Albins 1-4 B Dog set & our FWD2AWD Gear Conversion Kit. Perfect for mid 7 second ET’s and 170-190mph trap speeds at 10k-11k rev limits on 24.5” slicks.
- 600-1000whp street/strip cars on 58-67mm turbos utilizing this Albins FD set with an Albins 1-4 B Synchro set & our FWD2AWD Gear Conversion Kit will find that this gearing works great whether from a dig or in typical 30/50mph start roll races as you will be sitting at 5300-5800rpm in VTEC where the turbo can be loaded and spool hard right from the hit. You will be able to run 150-170mph trap speeds at the normal 9k-9.8k rev limits on typical 23-24.5” diameter tires.
